1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment, - India 1939-41, page two


The band and drums of the 1st Battalion beating retreat in front of the Frere Hall on 14th November 1939.  The Governor of Sind and Lady Graham were present, the King Edward VII Memorial is in the background.  Frere Hall was built in honour of Sir Henry Bartle Edward Frere (1815-1884) who did much to promote the economic development of Karachi.
